Hi every one
Would like to introduce my self as a new member. im just starting out in the north cornwall area is it best to go door knocking to get customers
can any one give me advise
-
Yes , well done for starting out in the winter months, it makes a nice change!
Arm yourself with some leaflets and a clipboard ( even print some yourself if you cant afford,)
Present yourself casual but smart at the door, and politely enquire if they have a window cleaner, if they say yes.. say thanks for your time and move on...
Trying to undercut the customers current window cleaner is not a good idea, as you have to work out there,... and you are making a rod for your own back.
Dont price yourself cheaply to get the work, as you will end up with a poorly paid round and be a very busy fool.
And remember , you have to sift through all the "No thanks ".... to get a yes.
It can get you down unless you have staying power , and a will to succeed.
But once the ball starts rolling for you , you will see all your hard work pay off.
;)

get yourself armed with loads of cards and pens and notepads get that canvassing of the road are you going traditional or the water fed cleaning
-
Keep the walking pace up ,
dont bother knocking on clean windows very few will leave current windy and those that do would maybe be the bad payers, messers , or people that might leave you when the next window cleaner knocks
if you focus on dirtys and if you are dressed in say uniform, polite etc you could have 70% success rate i know i do.
Go Wfp if you can at least top windows
Goodluck!

Hey Swanson.
I am down near redruth, If you want to hook up for a day you are welcome to head down. I can put together a few jobs to have a go on, maybe do lunch and have a chinwag etc. Some time in the next couple of weeks. let me know. Probably a good chance for you to take a look at wfp as well. If not no worries.
