I got a new customer from a referal thats a bit off my track so I cleaned her but then gave her a leaflet from a young lad I spoke to who was building up a round in that area.
I told her he might be a better choice as I don't really cover that area.
She's been on the phone tonight and wants me to go back. The new bloke has quoted her £35 to do the house. I charged her £22.
No sense at all. The rest of the leaflets he gave me have gone in the bin.

Custy: "Please do my windows, I love you and want your babies!"
Vince: "Tea, two sugars and a chocolate hobnob please - errrm (makes a sucking noise in the side of his cheek) well it's rather out of my way - I couldn't do it for £22 what with the price of Derv and all that..."
Custy: "Oh, I beg you, there's nothing I wouldn't do to have you!"
Vince: "Tell you what missus, as this other guy is being so greedy as he lives by you an' all, I'll do it once a month for 28 smackers, a mug of tea and three hobnobs!"
Custy: "I'm in love! I'm going to recommend you to all my neighbours!"

hehehe - its true theres a lot of dafties out there . maybe have a scrambled brain from earlier drug abuse? watch out for attention seeking munchausens too ! not so long ago i had a customer follow me as i was carrying my ladder to my van and he walked face first into the tail of my ladder

Yes that was very arrogant. Building a round and pricing like a big head.Has he been reading up on here?
Despite a few bragging posts i do have six and eight pound jobs, i try to be reasonable.My most common price is ten pounds.

most people on here have an "average " of £200 a job

What is it that makes no sense?
You gave your price, he gave his. How long did it take you?
Are you only happy with other window cleaners if they earn less per job than you?

This is a new detatched house but the windows are mostly very straightforward. Its a perfect job and a nice customer. The problem is I really don't want it because of where it is and with the winter coming its a struggle to cover my existing customers.
I only cleaned her the once because the person who recommended me is a good customer. It seems you can't even give work away these days. I would say I have a pretty good feel for prices in my area, I would also say I am top end price wise.
No way is that a £35 house, but when somebody gives you a job surely you go with the existing price?

Maybe he wants more for his time.
There is no such thing as the 'correct' price.
Did you tell him tour price was £22 or did you say "price it up yourself"?
