Title: Silly mistake
Post by: fenman on October 28, 2010, 04:49:46 pm
I worked Tuesday night, grabbed a few hours sleep got up and went to a rental.
Luckily it had only two rooms with carpet as I felt like the living dead.
I used Powerburst and FF rinse and they came up pretty well.
Today I had a minger so went to get the Ultrapac Renovate from the van.
It was not in its usual place but where I usually keep the FF rinse.
It then dawned on me that in my Knackered state the previous day I had put ultrapac in the solution tank instead of FF rinse. :o
I even thought as I poured it in that it looked a different colour but my brain did not register what I had done.
I have told the Agent that I need to go back and vac the fluff up rather than tell the truth.

I was on a big job until 1am
dropped the hoses from my scorpion into a prespray solution of Multipro for prespray of the stairs

Agitated and started to extract but the hoses were still in the multipro

Did the landing without thinking

fenman why would you lie?  Surely it is positive PR to say you've identified a problem and need to go back and put it right ???

i don't know jim. they'll want to know the problem and saying i've used the wrong product as i was tired is a bit risky.

We all make mistakes!  It's not like you've broken anything, just an honest mix-up which needs a quick once-over to put it right.

I'd have thought most clients would be impressed you've done the right thing and opted to go back.   After all if you keep schtum it's not like anyone's going to say "oh look the carpet cleaner left some ultrapac renovate in this carpet" is it??!

If you're going back to hoover up fluff might not someone notice the carpet is wet again and wonder why?  Just my take on the situation :)
