Do you mean the nosings on the stairs? What is it black marks on them. Try a solvent based cleaner. Acetone should do it, you know, nail varnish remover.

If it is normal stair treading, use strip and seal products as you would use on hardflooring.

id like some help with this please.

the black rubber bit of the stair tread has gone grey and faded, how do i restore it to black and shiny? mopping it doesnt do a thing
