Title: Carpet Cleaning Solution?

I have 5 cats right now. Two are kittens that I foster for an agency. Unfortunately, the house they came from had a ringworm problem and apparently I have it now. One of my own cats have caught it. Their being treated and everything but unfortunately I have carpet. I need a anti-fungal cleaning solution. Homemade or store bought. Something to kill the fungus so I don't have this problem again. I have my own steam cleaner also. I read that vinegar is a good solution and kills the smell but I don't know if the acid is strong enough. Thanks.

forget trying to be a skinflint and doing it yourself.  If the problem is as serious as you state, call a professional carpet & upholstery cleaner in, who will use professional equipment and solutions that will eradicate the problem.
