Title: Winter gloves too late!
Post by: Dave Willis on October 25, 2010, 06:59:57 pm
Went out this morning and had the first painful hands of the winter  :o

Got home and the postie had delivered three pairs of Showa 377 gloves. I'll give them a go later this week.

(£11.17 inc delivery)  ;)

I'm roadtesting Showa 460s at the moment.

Verdict after today:

Warm as toast, except at the tips of my fingers (but my hands are ENORMOUS, so even size XL still has my fingers a bit jammed at the end, so the insulation gets a tiny bit crushed).

Very easy to get on and off for writing slips, etc.

Pretty good feel for the thickness and very good grip.  Covering is heavy duty and will clearly last.

So, pretty good so far.

Cheapest I could find them was £9.30 plus VAT at http://www.safetysupplies.co.uk/trolleyed/6/18/index.htm

I had Showa 460's and after a few days found they started to smell. I have some merino wool liners inside Showa 377s. No smells so far and both liners and 377s are washable.

I have just orderd those Showa 377 ( 3 pairs)...

Check this for european rip offs..

In in Holland I tried to order 3 pair..this would cost 4,90 euro per pair + 12,90 euros shipping ...in Holland!!!!

Now ordered 3 pairs from that chap on ebay in U.K...14,20 euro's including the shipping!!!

You think UK is a rip off...believe me...you have it good for some things...

Dave.
