Title: Help needed you resourceful lot
Post by: Andy@w.c.s on October 25, 2010, 06:41:40 pm
so i now have my new genorator ready for mounting in the van (http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj186/zwizard1/utf-8BSU1HMDAxNTMtMjAxMDEwMjUtMTc0Ni5qcGc.jpg) The problem i now have is venting the exhaust fumes out of the van

I am looking for some sort of flexi heat resitsant hose to be able to connect to the exhaust port and then drop down through the floor of the van (http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj186/zwizard1/utf-8BSU1HMDAxNTItMjAxMDEwMjUtMTc0Ni5qcGc.jpg)

as you can see its only about an inch dia ,

have any of you guys got and tips or links or have done anything like this before ? HELP !

Andy

Thanks Chopsie but they don't go down to the size i need

Clearlyclaen

Have thought about that but with it being fixed in the van the movment from the genny might keep breaking the seal so i need something that is flexable

Thanks guys

inch = 250 mm http://www.masterflex-uk.com/product_hose_details.php?searchedby=application&product=18&application=9  This one is not quite big enough but one of the others prob will as they do different sizes in each hose

Personally I would try and find flexi metal hose. The heat generated from the exhaust of your genny is very high.

I have my genny in the van and just run it with side door open. No problems.

Hi
I would fix it to the van floor where you want it and then have an exhaust fabricated by an exhaust fitment centre. You will have to have a heat guard fitted to it, so nobody can burn themselves by accidently touching it.
Have agree with rg1 again tonight - exhausting it out of an open door when it's being used is probably the best and cheapest option.

Eberspacher or webasto do a flexible exhaust pipe, buy to length and put through your van floor.
I bought this it's a 1" internal and 38" long and paid £10. They even sell a special port to go through the van floor.
