Summer last year i stumbled on a great grippy trainer that fitted me like a glove (mercury ) ,cheap as chips and probably the comfiest trainer i ever did wear . in fact i love them so much i got the shoe shop to get me in as many as they could ,to keep me going as i found each pair only lasted a maximum 2 months before the sole split where it twists across the rungs . i ended up with a whopping 11 pairs but im now starting to getting low in my bottom drawer shoe stock and the mercury model i bought isnt made any more (mercury capone)
what are you lot wearing? im going to have to start a new search soon and might save time if i hear of a good grippy buy .

You shouldn't wear ordinary trainers for ladder work. You will damage the tendons in your feet and once they are damaged they are damaged for life. You need work trainers with a steel bar inside the soles. TOOLSTATION do a range and they are very good and hard wearing, cheap too!

Get some platform shoes and you won`t need a ladder.

Yes i've got a pair of them, paid about £25 6 months ago. ;D
They are light and have got a good sole on them but they aint 100% waterproof, water gets through the mesh bits on them. But for ladder work they would do the job.

I always wore safety boots with the steel in the sole as i didnt want to damage my feet or twist my ankle if i slipped, safety first!! best ones which i still wear for winter after 2 years were from brontana ( bad spelling!) for about £40 the problem i have is size as im a 13.

Docs for me all year round
-
I wear safety boots with steel in the sole. The only trouble is you lose the "feel" of your feet on the rungs.

Does the sole not split on them? I`ve never used them but someone told me they used to where the rungs had been.

Dickies safety shoe, non slip sole, oil resistant etc, I paid about £22 from Countrywide store, very comfortable. I notice Aldi are selling a safety shoe/boot this week which look very similar to Dickies.
