Post by: geefree on October 22, 2010, 09:40:16 am

Yes he is contactable through window tools, gardiners are also contactable through their website, ... we are all contactable,....via email or our websites.

i was asking Peter for advice through this forum, .. why was it locked ?

Because there is only one hot system. (it would never do for the masses to have a choice)
I don't think it is from Peter either.

I'm imagining it is because of the great big Ionics banner at the top of this page. Im guessing that Ionics dont want other competitors. Shame if thats the case.

Gardiners do indeed have their own website, but the post you refer to was not addressed to Alex  personally but addressed a new product of interest to all.

Had it been a direct question to Alex then it would indeed have been either locked or removed.

If you wish to discuss in general terms a product of Peter's then do so, ask others what they think of his new hot water system, but the initial question [as I recall without looking it up] was about a specific order....ergo why it was addressed to Peter personally.
Peter not only has his own website, but also his own forum, his contact details are also readily available.
For a question about a product ordered from him, his own forum/phone/website is where such a question needs to be directed, and not on clean it up....

Hence thread was locked once information to direct said query in the relevant direction was posted.

I've merged 2 topics addressing the same issue.

Both Peter and Alex understand it's a delicate tightrope for them to tread whilst discussing their own products.
Once the clamour of voices squawking about free advertising gets loud enough, paranoia sets in everywhere, often instigated by those with a vested interest in  trying to stifle talk about rival products on a forum they are paying to advertise their own goods on....

Kind of a damned if they do and damned if they don't scenario   :'(

So try to word your topics carefully!!!!
