Does anyone have a working method of getting black sock fluff out of a carpet?
It drives me daft when I'm cleaning a pale carpet and there are lots of little tufts of sock fluff left in the pile after cleaning. ???

Stiff brush similar to:

Providing the carpet isn't a loop pile, I have used a cat slicker brush with 100% success :)

Cheers guys, I'll get one and give it a bash. :)

A fine toothed hacksaw blade will do the job. (As stated above, not for a looped pile carpet).

Go over the area with a slow speed rotary and cotton bonnet pad. Mist a little m/s down first and onto the underside of the pad you'll be amazed at the ammount of fluff it picks up.
All the best,
Jason.

Jason's method is brilliant, and also I use my minitex with tampico brush which seems to work very well
Loop pile yes you have to be a little more careful but you need to get the job done. If there is a lot of sock fluff the carpet's already suffering from pilling no doubt - lesser of two evils get the damn stuff out.

It's rows of fine needles on a handle used for taking the undercoat from your pet...
I first realised how good they were on carpet long before I became a C/C, I was grooming the dog and the hoover wouldn't pick the fluff up, so I thought I'd see how the cat slicker brush would cope and... hey presto :D
