www.payatrader.com

These people rang me the other day with an alternative way of to cheques for receiving payment. Has anyone had dealings with them?

No Ive not dealt with them, but there will be an increasing number of these companies setting up, as the use of cheques diminish.
Dave.

When cheques go completely it's a problem if your job is in the hundreds.

There has been a few threads on here about card machines, but I totally begrudge the whole idea of banks skimming even more off our profit simply to make their lives easier. Good old capitalism. ::)

I will just accept payment by bacs when cheques are obsolete, which is actually what I accept now on commercial work and larger domestic jobs!

I too Colin, defo on commercial via BACS, and have done it on the larger domestics.

and now with "faster payments" its all done well within 24 hours.

and its free.

By the time cheques disappear (2018) I guess there will be other faster and more convenient ways of payment.
