Hi Guys
Is it possable to link a machine that works on suction with a boster that was built for a machine that works on Air Flow?

Ian, if you are talking about the eclipse, then yes you can, the diffidence to the amount of moisture on the carpet, when we tried this at the open day was very noticeable.

Ian;
The answer is simply, YES.

Hi Guys
Thanks
What I dont get is the fact that a suction is based on suction power and thatair flow is based on the amount of air passing "through" the machine?

While we are on the subject.
Many of us have small starter machines.
Is it not possible to link these to the exhuast pipe of big brother?
If one dsid buy this boaster machine that looks pretty neat,
What would it do for me.?
Ie what are the benifits to me and my customer.

hi ian, i hav two machines with two heavy duty 3stage vacs in each machine which i hook up together the diffrence is vast in drying times and will outdo the eclpise machine anyday cheers gary

Gary
expensive booster...
chris
-
lol ;D hi chris it was just an old machine i had for years laid up in me shed so i thought i make use of it works very well on a really bad clean gary
p.s y buy a booster for £500 just find a old second hand machine that way u also hav a backup if pump or something fails on main machine whilst injoying added vac power.

Hi Gary
You need to see the booster vac to understand how it works, it is not just simply another machine connected in tandem. The booster is a though vac chamber, which allows the recovered solution to pass through the chamber and on to the main machine, as for out performing the eclipse by connecting 2 standard machines together!! I don't think so. You would have two recovery chambers each reducing the amount of vacuum created, the larger the vac chamber the more power you require to create the vacuum, you would also reduce the air flow and the air flow speed through each machine, this would mean that each machine would have a deterimental effect on the other, if you think in reverse its like trying to blow up two car tires with the air passing through the first to get to the second, bluntly put something would go bang.!!
Ian
There is no reason you cannot connect the booster to another portable, it would give you an increase in power, it shoul not however be connected to close to the main machine, I would suggest at least a 25 foot hose distance.
Hope this helps
Best regards Nick

Gary,
I know you have mentioned linking two machines together and getting a super vacuum.
How do you do this , through some sort of connector?
I believe your machines are made by Cleancraft as is the Eclipse , do they reccomend linking to boost vacuum?
Cheers,
Doug
p.s I thought you were giving up CC

jhi nick dont know much about tec but this really works on my two machines i hav two 10ft hoses out of each machine which are conected to a y pc so they dont suck air from each other then my vac hose is connected to the end of y it is incredible diffrence cheers gary
-
hi doug i still do it part time as i hav a shop (to many good earners to let it go ) ;D one is a ninja the other is a seahawk which is a old cleancfrafte machine formally sold by hydramaster in the uk cheers gary
-
Hi Gary,
Glad to see your still with us.
Do you find one machine will take more of the water or is it about 50:50.
Cheers,
Doug
-
yes its very even doug one has auto dump one is man the ninja emptys first because of smaller tank, if u ever near braintree doing a job i show u gary
-
Gary ,
Interesting stuff I'll have to come and see one day.
I'm suprised no manufacturer has come up with a box which you could link two machines through , similar to the booster but without a vac.
What made you try the link up in the first place?
Cheers,
Doug

just messing around one day when i was bored lol i done some test with machine on its own and then with the two together one of these was lifting a solid object up with one machine it couldnt but with two machine it stuck to it like glue now i ant no tec head but surly this means its pulling alot more air ? with two machines on and u put wand on to a hard surface it will stick to it but one machine want come near to sticking also not only dos it leave carpets a lot dryer it really seems to clean better it most really suck the dirt out . q for tec heads if my ninja has water lift of i think 230 and the other is 220 what would u say the water lift is whem linked together and how do u test this ? p.s doug if memory serves me right ashby make an attactment for linking two machines ? gary

Hi guys
Am I right in thinking that a machine based on Air Folw will have an exhaust like a dry vac?

hi ian they all hav other wise they blow up gary
-
Hi all
If the vacs in 2 connected machines are not balance then the weaker machine will reduce the power of the more powerful unit just because the machines are connected via a Y peice does not mean they don't effect each other. you now have two machines with twice the original size vac chamber therefore you factually have half the power. Each vacuum would become more efficiant as the chamber filled up and therfore reduced in size. You would reduce the efficiency of the weaker machine and most definately shorten the vac motor life due to the greater restriction of airflow through the turbine unit.

:o nick i respect your veiws as u no what u are talking about as regards tec but it works for my setup full stop ! it has not reduced the power it has increased big time fact ! i tested this on my own house i cleaned 8 carpets with one machine with atuo dump off and auto fill off next day i cleaned them again with everything turned of again but used same amount of water this resulted in a extra 2 buckets water and a very happy missus ;D now if i used ashbys lid with two hose inlets which they make it would be even more dramtic results
regards gary
p.s there was also nearly 2 hour drying diffrecnce

Why not simply get a decent truckmount with an RX-20?
-
or a rdm the are even better at drying
