Title: pump help
Post by: Lee GLS on October 17, 2010, 12:02:54 pm
got my new system fitted, but have a question about the pump, when there is no pole connected or the pole isnt turned on the pump cycles every few seconds and DE flashes up on the controller which i think means dead end detected, is there a way of preventing the pump from doing this?

this only means no water is comming out just let it flash it will do no harm its just telling you the the water flow is not in use

Shouldn't the pressure switch cut in instead, if I the flow rate then when the pole isn't in use the pressure switch cuts in and stop the pump cycling every few seconds, but then there is to muxh water coming out?

I don't  mind the display flashing, but don't want the pump cutting in every few seconds

Its perfectly normal. The pump is pressurising the system. DE= dead end=no water being used.

What is the pressure switch for? Shouldn't that cut in to stop the pump when it's not in use instead of it cycling every few seconds because IRS detecting a dead end?
