Hey guys, whats the best way to clean frames? - should they be done as part of the window clean - some of my new custys frames are minigin' and takng a while to clean - should i be charging extra?

the main trad firm in my town only clean frames as an extra . a high priced extra at that .
personally i throw in the frame cleaning free (could be a mug,but every angle counts in impressing the new customer)
on the First clean only i use a coarse piece of wet towel +a squirt of CIF cleaner to scrub up the frames. From then on i only flick my scrim cloth around the frame to keep it looking good

I'm wfp and frames, sills and windows are charged as one price unless its a first clean and frames are minging. If this is the case then I charge extra.

Is it fair though to charge extra when cleaning the frames. The customer want their windows cleaning but we decide to clean the frames to make our job easier there after. One thing that does annoy me though is when after the first clean with everything looking sparkling, the customer then decide they dont want a window cleaner after all.So if you can get extra money for first cleans do it!

I'm a Trad cleaner and I have one customer that was in some work that I took over, and he has his frames washed every time the windows are cleaned - three bed detached with nine windows (small porch which is windows only). for that he pays 18.50, which I'll admit could be a bit more, say 20.00, and it takes about forty to fifty minutes. Although it is a bit of a work-up, I do thnk it is a good idea, in fact, I now do all my own frames when I clean the windows (even though I don't get paid), and when I look at mine to next doors (which I don't do), you can tell the difference.
