Title: adwords
Post by: cannon on October 15, 2010, 07:38:31 pm
Does anyone know if its possible to find out the time of clicks?

Is it possible to see the ip addresses of people who have clicked?

not with adwords online contol panel. you'll have to install a seperate script to watch visitors and track them. then you can see that a user clicked at say 10:32pm from google with the ip 192.168.1.1 etc. i don't think that the search term which the user put in to get to your ad is something you can find out though with adwords, only the organic listings. could be wrong though

any help with this would be greatly appreciated, ive got my suspicions that someone is maliciously clicking on my ad. My daily funds are being used up very early in the day and my add disapearing. This has just started happening last 2 weeks and the clicks are all for the same search term.

Ive just installed google analytics will this give me any info ie if same ip address is clicking in quick succesion.

Im at a loss as to what to do, addwords was pulling work in for me now its just costing :'(

Apparently you can use Tracking202 so you have an ID tracking code for each unique user. You will have to put it on your server and marry up the ID. This is how you can gather data that will reduce your CPC or so I'm told.

Google analytics will tell you how many of your visitor are unique and how long they stay on your site, anyone just clicking to cost you money more than likely will not stay for long so will bounce straight out,

And i thought is was all about RESULTS!!!!

if you have a £15 day budget and he clicks £14 and say 1 customer calls from the other £1.00 with an oder for 80+ am sure its still a profit!!!! maybe just the way I think...

but what's happening or thought to be happening is you put budget of say £15 per day, within minutes it's gone and then you get no customers, then same for next day, and next day, and next day etc.

analytics will not show you this either. you'll need to install a  seperate script to watch visitors and track them. wynne has suggested something which may be good.

Just forget about click fraud,Google discount multiple click from the same IP, however you may pay at the time then get refunded.

The truth is people are clicking and they are not sufficiently interested to pick up the phone.

Look at what you can do.

Increase your QS

set up campaign to give high CTR in first few days.

track CTR

drop underperforming keyword phrases

refine camapign times around peak CT

look at what keywords give a good CT for CPC

rotate squeeze pages to find optimum response (may knock your QS though)

learn your PPC acronyms  ;D

or you could try youtube ppc or FB  ;)

All this is on the net, I don't know anything about what I've just written :-[

Barry

My daily funds are being exhausted before many if any people are getting to see my add. I was getting results but now im getting zilch.

I didnt start this thread to "MOAN" as you say if you read it properly it is to request some info as to what i can do to get back to getting "RESULTS"

Wynne

Canon

The forum is useful and other people do videos on YT that fill in some gaps.
