Hi Joe

I'm in the market for a replacement van so if your seriously selling I would be interested in the details.
Or are you just looking to see what comments you get. ;D

Hi all
Full details posted this afternoon hopefully.

I am hoping to sell the Prowler and van as a unit.
With this Prowler, 15hp, it is larger and heavier then the 13hp, so will need a bigger van.

Yes Paul, I was seeing what reaction there would be, already got a viewing after the weekend.

Hi Alan in Swindon - thanks for the comments. It looks good and just having a service at only 215 miles.

Billy, why selling. Had a MRI scan couple years ago, got arthritus in the top part of my spine which is trapping a nerve. They mentioned surgery (very intrusive they said) so I said I would put up with the pain. Wasnt bad then, but is now, last 6 weeks its 24 hours 7 days a week. Just tires you. So working a bit less then I used to, a bit slower then I used to, so seems a shame having a machine that aint being used to its full potential.
Machine working well, its me that needs attention.

Joe, sorry to hear about your troubles.  I have a bad back so I can go some way to understanding what it's like.  Mine's giving me stick today as it happens, can't find a comfortable position to sit or lie in!

Let's hope you get mended and can still wield the wand for many years to come :)

Sorry to hear about your health problems Joe, i would have thought that the truck mounted Prowler would mean less lifting etc than say, using a portable.
Please do stay on the forums though as you posts are always fair and measured and i always read them with great interest.

Kind Regards

Sorry to hear about the arthritis Joe.................I was diagnosed at 18 years old with arthritis in the right hip which was never treated properly by NHS and later diagnosed with arthritis at the base of my spine. If I'd accepted their assessments I'd have ended up in a wheel chair or had surgery and probably still ended up in a wheel chair!

BUT THEY WERE WRONG

I got my flexibilty restored and returned to work ( against advice ) and am still working about 7 years later. Sure, I suffer pain and can only work at half speed but I'm 66 now and don't wish to become a liability so I'll continue to work for as long as I can.

Make sure the diagnosis is correct and consider how you might improve whatever problems exist. Most neck problems have origins in the lower back. Whatever you do keep well away from chiropractors.

Thanks for all the comments.
But I am not completely decrepid (yet)
A trapped nerve in the back is the cause of the problem, though its not a back problem I have - back hasnt given me problems since I got decent equipment starting with the CFR about 5 years ago.
Its just constant pain in my left shoulder and elbow areas, and constant pain tires you.
Thee problem is probably due to all the bumps I took in grass track racing back in the 70's (and I dont mean the 1870's before anyone starts).

Jim, I am going to van mount the Scorpion, so it will be used as the Prowler. Its not as powerful, but I can get a very good clean out of the Scorp, thanks to it and the cleaning fluids I use - mainly Nemesis/M-power.

Might take dereks advice and go for the maccies instaed of the subway.  :D

and thanks Robert for the advice. Do you think a sports physio may be of help.
With my doctor its eother the pills or the scalpel.  :o

Joe sorry your not feeling so good Had a year of work with same sort of problem about six years ago. I would have thought the prowler would have been better option as it must clean better with less effort than the scorpion.
Good luck whatever you do m8 and hope you are feeling better soon.

Regards Tony

I would try a foam roller (not for carpets or painting), costs a tenner and worked miracles for me. Like Robert says it could be more to do with your back and this will let you work out the naughty bits.

Glad to hear your not packing it all in, sorry to go off topic but do you find any difference between M Power and Nemesis apart from dilution rates as i see you use both

Both are colloidals so will work similarly in my opinion.
I like the smell of them when prespraying but after extraction there seems to be no smell other the  of fresh smelling carpets.
Both can be strengthened for spotting purposes.

Thanks Joe i have never used them in stronger dilutions for spotting, did not know you could do this or what ratio, also i believe they have a "shelf" life once mixed so you could not keep it as a spotter

This goes counter to some information on these products which suggests making the dilution stronger makes them less effective. Go figure. :-\

Wynne your right i recently read on the other forum that any more than 80/1 would be pointless as the nano size molecules would not have room or something like that :-[
thus making the pruduct no more affective than at higher dilution rates ???

Jim re shelf life. i believe M-Power Spotter uses distilled water to retain shelf life.
80:1 is OK, but I have used it at 40:1 and got a good spotting result.

Joe,
I am 64 years and up to two or three years ago suffered repeatedly with my back. I always use to muddle through until the spasm worked its way out, which took about a week. Gradually the spasms became worse, and meant a couple of days off work so went to the docs.
He prescribed pain killers and Diazapan (spelling?) better known as Vallium. Its a great muscle relaxant but I could only take it at night because it kind of trips you out, when mixed with Ibuprofen.
The last time I had a bad spasm, I got the repeat prescription, but decided that I didn't really want to take any more pills, so booked myself in with a Chiropractor.
He manipulated my back after taking X rays. After 6 sessions I stopped going. Although I still occasionally get a slight twinge, it has never developed into a spasm ever-since.
I think a Chiropractor may be your best option of getting that nerve pressure released.
Dave.

One thing, you don't realise how heavy your head is until you have something like that, bloody murder.

Don't forget stress plays apart with things like this sometimes. Tell the Mrs to lay off the nagging. ;D Get a massage regular take up yoga and meditation. Even if you look a bit gay it's better than being in pain.
