Anyone do it?
i wouldnt normally but recently moved well 8 months now in a nice little cul de sac all modern houses easy to clean and window cleaner is a joker who employs two scallys who miss nearly every window and those they do "clean" look worse than before they came
anyway since one or two notice i am a windy ive been asked loads so decided i would do them for my two immediate neighbours but now everyone wants a piece :)
trouble is there really under priced and dont wanna be too expensive so going in at around £7 they have about 8-9 windows so not too bad?
hopefully it wont be bad decision, good thing is no collecting and a mornings work with no travelling :)
-
If you dont even have to move your van & have them all your laughing mate.
Not done it myself (neighbours) but if there asking you cant really say no can you ;)
Nice to have the neighbours on side :)
-
I thought so, they all seem really nice
bit of a hard one as i dont like the idea of working so close to home so there is no falling out over not paying or something but on the other hand they will think im weird if i wont do them so will give it a go
think everyone will pay fine as they seem desperate for a windy there paying this joker fortnightly however 80 % have sacked him already

get in there fella!

My local wc is welcome to my street. £1.50 fronts only or £3 front and back. He's been doing them 18 years. Prob not increased the prices since he started them.

this is the problem this guy isnt far enough so thats why i dont wanna give em heartattack so doing just monthly at an ok price
it will be worth it if i get 10 or so though as its an easy 70 in front of my door as its a cul de sac no petrol nice lay in and all paid straight up plenty of cuppas and if winter is as bad as last time might be the only bit of work can do for a few days lol

I do not clean in my street and will never do it(unless as a favourbut not regular), I have never cleaned in the same town as I live either...I like to go to work and then come home....just a preference.
Cheers
Dave.

no problem cleaning my street,if its been raining no problem getting out at 2 or 3 to earn a bit, without having to load ladders up

My thinking too :)

I live in a small village and I have 3 days work here. There were some bad payers, and now they look the other way when they pass me in the street.
-
We've cleaned the estate we live on for the past eighteen years without any problems.
Why wouldn't you want to clean your own street?????
No fuel bill, no travelling, home early; every one's a winner ;D

I do some neighbours and others in my small town. Do you eventually get the money from your bad payers? Some how it's tougher to deal with when they live in the same town. >:(
-
Knock on their door with the kids in tow or ask them would they mow your lawn or service your van for nothing.Bad and non payers are stealing food from your babies mouths as simple as that. Most of my neighbours are good and give it me when i see them, ;D

Dont do my estate because the bloke I got in to do mine before I was a window cleaner only charges £6 a house but should be at least £14 - £16 a house.
I told him no one had a window cleaner so he canvassed the lot and got a fair few.
He dropped me cos I was a crap payer (fair enough) - kept forgetting to send cheque. ::)
Couldnt find another that I felt I could trust so had to do them myself and here I am 5 months later a window cleaner :)
When I asked him for a price I was expecting him to say between £12 to £15.

I avoid my street like the plague, but I do a few surrounding streets and i did not want them, but the ones I do are good but some have been dropped sharpish and it is awkward in the local Hamilton accies when someone owes money but they are in for the special brew and rizzlas ::) but the ones I have kept on the books are all good, I also will not do my wife's friends houses as at some point she will fall out with them guaranteed ;) I also will not do my kids friends parents houses as my son will fall out with them as well and I dare say my daughter will as well when she is a bit older, anyway the lad that does my street is a good window cleaner and is far cheaper than me
