Title: 2 man set up - advice please
Post by: mlscontractcleaner on October 08, 2010, 05:52:37 pm
We normally have 2 lads working from 1 van using just the 1 pump, the hose being split after the resin cannisters. This works okay but I'd rather have two pumps to keep the pressure constant.

My thinking was that if I split the hose in to two pretty much as soon as it comes from the tank and then connect each hose to a pump, etc that would be much better.

Even though I've had wfp for years I've never really bothered to suss out how it actually works - lazy I know ;)

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks :)

Hi mate, yeah your right, ive just taken the step to upgrade my van to 2 pump settup.  I was working off 1 pump split after the resin vessel, but was finding that we were not both getting enough water to rinse properly.  I now have 2 pumps with 2 digi controllers, both with their own resin vessels.  It was well worth the money, as we both have the controllers turned right down, the pumps dont have to work hard and i dont think water usage is much different (maybe 50l more per day).  We now both have the water we need to rinse properly, we noticed the difference within the first few houses!!

yes two pumps and controler's all the way - we can get by with 400 for the two of us all day - 400 used to be gone by lunch with just one pump up full working two hoses.

never been a problem for me and the wife after 2 years! just use more water as if i turn mine off its full blast on hers, but we use a 650 tank, so it always lasts a day or 15 houses.

So using one pump between us actually uses more water ???

How strange; I assumed that if we both had a pump each the water flow would be better and we'd use more water that way.

Well I'm definately convinced; I think I'll be spending some time on Sunday installing a new pump and moving things around a bit.

Thanks lads; just goes to show, no matter how long you do this there's always something to learn :)

Dirtywindows Ltd ....... 15 houses in a day between the two of you????

Big houses I guess :-\
