Title: 8 tds.............. time for twin DI s?
Post by: dazmond on October 07, 2010, 10:35:27 pm
i have a 25L DI vessel and the tds has just started to creep up.ive shook the vessel a few times and it makes no difference.i have a small DI as well that ive not used yet.is it time to have the 25L in tandem with the small DI to get my water down to zero?

ive been using it at 8 tds today and i didnt notice any spotting!

I havent used DI for about 2 years now and windows are always perfect. My TDS after RO is normally around 4 or 5 but occasionally upto 10.
Oh, and I have an Ionics pro 5 and live in a hard water area.

ronnie you prob use a hell of a lot more water than me!

im a sole trader and use around 1000-1200L a week.im gonna try the twin DI thing as its supposed to make the resin last longer.

my tds is between 35-70 (salford)

That's one hell of a DI vessel ;D  (The same size as a 25lt water barrel)

You'll probably find it's a 5lt - you can fill it 5 times from a 25lt bag of resin.  With resin at about £70 a bag you will get a year or two from a bag.

Not too bad, is it?

its a 25 L VESSEL ian!no kidding!its huge!and my other one is a small 2.7 L VESSEL.I got the big one as i thought it would last longer and the small one to keep in the van in case i have to top up on the job(which ive never used!)

Why a 25ltr vessel?

Anyhow, you'd be better with 2 x 11ltr vessels, filled with Tulsion resin. The slower the flow through them the longer it will last.

My water is 92ppm, 400ltr van mount & I only use 2 bags of resin per YEAR! ;)

i also think x 2 11ltr would be better ...

just be better for making the water and alot easier for refilling ...

Dazmond try shaking the DI Vessel, the water forms channels in these vessels so only some of the resin is used up.

Matt

i find its 50 50 if that makes tds lower or higher sometimes ...

Not be an easy job with 25ltr vessel! ;D

However, I find it best to let a bit of water out of the vessel (to make some room for the resin to move) loop the inlet/outlet with some pipe (to stop water/resin coming out THEN give a good shake, turning it upside down etc. ;)

i just thought if i bought a 25L VESSEL i would only have to change the resin twice a year with a full 25L BAG!

im going to put the 25L AND 2.7L VESSEL in tandem(little and LARGE! ;D)and see how i go on! ;)
