Title: Is this a first
Post by: Panorama on October 07, 2010, 05:00:25 pm
I went back to a customer today for the 2nd time. As I put my ladders up against the window ledge the customer opened the door and handed me a tenner. "You need £3 change" said I. He just waved his hand and went back in. Went round the back and was half way through when his wife appeared. " I owe you £3 pound", " I don't want it " she said. "why ?"  Said I . " you done such a good job last time iam willing to pay a tenner" ;D. My question is , do you think she will ditch me for a ladder monkey lol

I could not work that one out!! But good on ya mate, I get one woman who is £9, She always gives me £12, Really nice person, poor bugger had a  stroke and speaks with a slight slur as if she's a bit drunk and walks with a stick, only early fifties at a guess, maybe not even that.

I've a custy who puts her own price up every year. I do the front of her 30's semi  for £8.50 and all the others are £6.50. (5 facetted bays up and down).

Another who I charge £11 for and she always gives me a £2 tip every time.

Another who I charge £8 for two sides of an ex council semi (garage walkway filled with junk) and she always pays me a tenner because in her words ("it's not your fault my husbands too lazy to clear a way through" ;D)

Another who was having extension work done at the back on a £15 job and so I just did the fronts and sides for six months and she insisted on paying the full amount. I agreed on condition that when the job was done then I would do the "builders clean" for free. It was an easy job and she then paid £30 and wouldn't hear differently.

It's always women - yet I am as bald as squeaky but not as ginger!  ??? Strange eh?
