Hi, Any advice on how to remove wood stain of carpet caused by placing furniture back on damp carpet. I have try solvex but without success
-
Well the polite answer is to say regretably there generally isn't a solutuion; the clue is in the word "stain".
The "smart" answer is .................a stanley knife.
How did it happen? Are you new to carpet cleaning?

I have had some success with sod.met. albeit limited, but has worked ,always worth a try, especialy if you have commited the cardinal sin of not placing tabs underneath.
good luck

Always put something underneath wooden or metal legs or castors.
Completed a job today with loads of unneccesary stains left behind by a previous carpet cleaner including wood dye transfer and rust from metal castors.

Gary , you say completed a job today witj wood stains and rust left from another c/c .
Yes the rust not to much of a problem, but how did you get on with the wood stain? out of interst.

The only avenue normally is using an oxidising solution it you have not used sodium metasulphate before you would be safer using a mixture of oxibrite, fibre buff and fibre shampoo it is much gentler but may need more than one or several treatments. Prochem technical dept will advise you on the dilution rates. sodium met is not something to practice with on other peoples property.

As a last resort and providing the staining is only in the very tips of the pile, you can gently use a fuzz shaver (the kind of thing to get balls off clothes). Don't be over aggresive and qualify with customer there may be a slight shading problem due to the pile being slightly lower.
