Just wondering what you would charge for hard floor cleaning in a guide centre for the blind as follows
ALTRO SAFETY FLOORING MUSHROOM X2542
Entrance Ladies wc Gents wc kitchen Main hall TOTAL 125 SQM medium soiling with the usual scuff marks
I have already cleaned the home carpets for the people that run the centre at my normal price.
But they have asked what i could do for them in the hall We understand you have a buisness to run ect.
So the details here we go ::)
The job is 1 mile from home 125 sqm altro floor will be clear can be cleaned at a time to suit me
Method vacuum, apply cleaner , rotary, wet vacuum residue, rinse floor vacuum dry
Whats your price guys for ccccccharity mate ;D ps just a guide dont take it to serious and turn it into a 4 page war ;D ;D

Hi
For me the problem with discounting is they want the same next time, even if its a job thats not worth you doing.
But at the end of the day its your business, so charge what you think is right.

Its a hard one mate as you might want to do it at half price or at a price you agree..I too sometimes do work for charities so guess its up to you mate..
Nothing wrong with doing a small job for a bit less..
-
Why not charge your normal rate-and then make a donation to the charity.
you don't tangle up your pricing and you are seen to actively support the charity.

Do it for your normal price, then make a donation back, using gift aid, the charity gets you income tax back on the gift!
-
I cleaned a carpet for a cancer research shop once and said to the lady I would do it at a good price seeing as they were a charity... She wouldn't accept that and told me to charge what I normally would!
-
so if you turned up at blind persons house would you do it at a reduced rate. business is business charity is charity charge as you would normally
-
I have some blind clients and they always pay the going rates, always takes me a long time to get the furniture back to exactly the same place and it has to be spot on too :)
-
do they have a in-house magazine or newsletter that they send out? perhaps they could do a write up about your company in liu of payment.
or have you got a website that can host videos? then do the job with a 50% discount if the manager allow you to film it and give a video testimonial .

Mike i think its a great idea that we could all do i have cleaned the hard floors at the scout group where my son is and pulled good money from the parents.
Oh we didnt know you cleaned carpets ect also the 2 gay hairdressers where my wife goes have gained untold amounts of customers for us just leaving 50 leaflets on the side table for a quick spin on there floor with a red pad.
We all have these centres and halls near us with notice boards ect. Also you get the feel good factor your putting something in to your community not everyones cup of tea granted but worth the thought
-
Just realised i used the word gay i meant care free happy and bright sorry if i offended anyone ;D
-
As others have said, charge your normal price.
If you feel sympathetic to the cause, how about donating a carpet cleaning voucher for their next fund raiser?
