Title: Windows Builders Clean - wooden

Hi Guys,

We have a small builders clean to do the windows. We have done plenty of them but not with wooden windows. They have normally been PVCu or Aluminium.

The glass is not a problem to clean.

I was just wondering what would be the best stuff to use to clean the frames, as some will have plaster, debris on. The frames most of them are already painted or primed in places.

Would it just be a simple case of wiping down or using non scratch scourers to clean the frames etc.

When I do wooden frames I tell the client that I'll give em a wipe, bit if I'm too heavy handed it'll damage the paintwork, so they need to get a painter to finish anything that I can't remove. I find painted frames actually quicker than PVC because of this. ;)

Yes we have told them this already and are happy with this. Just wondered if there was some thing I could use that I was not aware of.

I find a fine grade of wire wool & soapy water works well (on PVC too!)
