Title: May be selling up ?
Post by: P @ F on October 02, 2010, 01:19:08 pm
Not altogether , but just downsizing after a string of muppets causing me grief !
Not sure which way to go , sell van and system , sell van system and some work , or keep and try again.

What are your thoughts on what i should do ?
Any ideas on what i can expect for the van and system ?

R plate combo , not power steering , bit heavy on the arms !
125 k on the clock , 7 months mot 1 month tax , tidy condition , for age anyway , 1700 D isuzu lump.

350 L tank , 85 amp battery , 100 psi shurflo , varistream 2 , 6x18 vessel , 85 M microbore , downstairs pole , 24 foot hybrid xtel , all in good order .
No ladders or trad gear included.

All thoughts appreciated , thanks guys

Rich

Where are you for starters in cornwall , i say this as the work that is in question is not too well priced and bit one here one there kind of thing !
I dont need to get rid of it but if im selling the van its an ideal time to streamline what i have got on the books to make my time more lucrative , at the same time its a bonus for a newbie or for anybody who is already in the area

As i mentioned , the work is bitty , £6 and £7 houses mainly , never got around to upping the prices as i was more interested in getting the commercial side sorted !
The work has been on the books for 6 years , so its well established , all the custies are very good , but the commercial side is not for grabs , i mean there is a part of the round that pulls in £220 for a day one man only , this could be in with the jetisoned work , not sure yet.

All work is in Plymouth and Ivybridge.

am intrested,  why dont u rent it out and then sell it in the future if you want,  or try and sell it with the van and see what u get

by the sounds of it  you sound like you want to stick to commercial and get rid of domestic,  if that is the case, i am intrested in your domestic

No no , commercial is a bonus to me , i would never go all commercial , ive seen it come and go the next week all too often , i have lots of prime domestic which i would never sell .
Its just a case of having way too much work to keep on top of with just the one van , and im fed up of working stupid amounts of hours in one week to get through it all .
I will sit down and work out what i need to sell or rent out in more depth , i will e mail you a list when its sorted

Cheers Rich

i'd really only be interested in just the van and the tank fitted nothing else would be needed as i have everything else already,

end of the day its a old R reg combo van, you tell me how much you would want for it

I would say its worth around £800 The van cannot be worth much over £400 maybe 500 quid

130 quid tank and a 20 quid set of ratchet straps isnt gonna add 3-400 quid onto the value of the van,

got 500 quid here for the van with the tank fitted if you wanna sell

If you aren't in a blinding hurry I reckon you could put it in for a grand (all in) and get something close to that.

It's not a bad price for someone to be able to drive a way and start work the next day is it?

If I was buying I would think - hmmm old van with 7 months ticket worth £500; system bits would cost £500 new and I'd spend a day putting it in ... it looks neat from the piccies. Yeah I'd chuck a grand at that if it all worked/drove right.
