I am selling an Oven Cleaning Dip Tank, along with some supplies for Oven Cleaning;
The Dip Tank was supplied by Drayton Tanks and is approximately 2.5 months old. It cost £267. This is not just a plastic box, it is a fit for purpose tank that is certified to hold water & waste at up to 70c.
Please note: this is an unheated dip tank.
When cleaning ovens, a dip tank is essential in order to soak the racks and trays, facilitating easy removal of the baked on carbon deposits. Some operatives use gas bottle heated dip tanks - I never wanted to go for this approach as it involves driving around in your van all day with a large gas bottle in the back! ..... a further option is an electrically heated dip tank but these are outrageously expensive (£1800 from Oven Gleam, but you also need to take a £1200 training course to qualify to buy one!).
So the easiest approach is to use an unheated tank like this one for sale, and fill it with hot water before a job(s). You can then buy a large catering kettle from eBay for £20 and add a further 5L of hot water when you get to the job, (or to top up the heat for a subsequent job).
Some use cold water in these tanks, in combination with powerful caustic products (which don't require heat) but my approach was to use 100% eco friendly products, so I always used hot water).
The tank has drilled holes in the lid to enable semi-permanent fastening but I never used these. The capacity is 91L but for oven cleaning (and for portable use in a van) you will never need more than 20L in the tank. Although the tank does not have a drainage tap, as long as it is not overfilled it is light, and easy to tip the waste contents of the tank into a suitable point. A further option would be to have a drain tap retro-fitted (never bothered me enough to do this).
Along with the tank I will supply a number of consumables including Stainless Steel Cleaner, Oven Glass Cleaner, Bio Dip Tank Solution, Scrapers, Blades, Micro cloths, and 2 x bulbs. The tank will fit in any sized van from a combi to a transit (and some estate cars).
Everything you need to start professional oven cleaning.

Hi there,
I'd agree with you on how dangerous it is to carry gas bottles around and have a life flame heating up stuff at customers' houses either inside a van or out on the side of the road.
But I wouldn't say our tanks are outrageously expensive. The true price of the plastic electrically heated oven cleaning dip tank, supplied my us with the course, is £1200. The cost of the course is £1900. To get your van fitted out so that the tank is chasis mounted, a rinse system fitted and electrics are fitted for this would be an additional £700. All these prices include VAT and will be changing in the New Year with the VAT increase.
When I started 7 years ago I spent £2400 on the course and £1200 on the tank and that was then so in real terms the price has gone down. The course was an inferior one to the one I now run. Also the current tank is an improved version of the tank I originally bought in that it is wider so that it can take the large 90cm racks and has the heating element in a more accessible place.
You pays your money and you make your choice.

Well, I've used a gas heated dip tank for nearly three years... As long as you use common sense, there should be no problems.
Paying £2400 on an oven cleaning course ??? Ouch!!!
When you consider the price of carpet cleaning courses, oven cleaning courses are way over priced!

Colin, with all your experience run your own course for oven cleaning.... :)
