Title: reel spindle rust?

just took apart my metal reel spindle and noticed rust inside it, would that have an effect on the finish on the windows?

YES!

but only the first house of the day  8) - after that all the loose rust particles would be flushed out.

I thought reel spindles were plastic  ???

yeah theyre plastic but a metal inside for you attach the metal connectors, its not really loose rust, just rusted if that makes sense, just wondered even if i change it, it will still go rusty within a few weeks?

they should make them out of stainless steel or brass.
