Title: video editing help
Post by: Andrew Briscoe on September 25, 2010, 06:03:29 pm
Videoed a cpt clean other day, have 2 20 minute vids, need to do
some editing of it.
When i try to it says i need windows quick time pro 7.

I have put it into windows movie maker, but i only get the first 5 seconds,
is there a way to fix this, or should i just stop beeing tight and buy quick pro 7
for 20 quid.

Andrew,

Was it done on a phone or with a camera?

If it was a camera, was it standard definition or high definition?

It may a case of using some free conversion software to change the format.

Andrew,

Your files are probably .3gp or .3pg2

You can convert them to .avi which Windows Movie Maker likes using free software like quick media converter. You should find some free online services if not.

Just checked phone details,
it is 3gpp format
720 x 480  resolution
523 mb.

Plays ok on comp, but when i put it in tomovie maker i just get 5 seconds.
maybe i am missing something. Not brill with comps

Have you tried dragging the 'clip' into the timeline? Should sort it.
