Daniel,
Every months a good month to leaflet.
Do bear in mind that some of your future customers may not ring until nearer Xmas.
I am a great believer in consistent leafletting which leads to consistent work.

Hi Doug
Im gettin 100k done black and white going to do 5000 a week in my local paper, i have never seen another cc leaflet in the paper in my area so hopefully it will work.

I did 20000 in local free paper and not one call, this was targeted at the right areas at about 4000 a week over 5 weeks, not one call!
i now use a leaflet distribution company £150 per 10000 and the work trickles in from them.

Paul,

hi daniel,
iv only just started doing my own leaflets so dont know what to expect, but one thing that must be going for us this time of year is the kids have just gone back to school after spending the last 6 weeks recking the house so im sure theres some housewives out there just waiting for one of our leaflets.
-
Hi Red
thats what i was thinkin hopefully they have trampled 6 weeks of mud through the house and need our service.

Ben,
£15.00 per 1000,i pay cash, they go out gradually with one or two others,by gradually i mean between 1000 to 3000 a week

I am concerned that people read about Leaflet distribution, have large quantities printedf etc and spend thousands of pounds without testing the leaflet on a smaller sample first.
If you are using a proven leaflet this is probably OK but if you are designing one yourself I would have thought a family distributed test of say 5 thousand was a better way to go.
I may be wrong but thought I would add this word of caution
-
Paul, thats still good value for money, well done!!
-
Ian thats a very good point to which i did think about, but i had a leaflet fron another member on this forum and he reckons its worked a treat for him so i jumped straight in with a 100k gopefully they will work,i will post at a later date to tell how i got on.

Hi Guys
Would be interstering to hear from those that get better response do they have offers are are they on price?
I had one drop on my doorstep the other week and it had the guys name at the top and that he was a carpet cleaner and that he used a TM And his phone number, which was not local. No offer or call to action.
I will be from now on date stamping my offers on all my leaflets as pointed out people put them by for later. If later is busy season whats the point? Busy time smallier offers, slow season big offers,
Respect

I always have offers, it gives customers a reason to call, even if they weren't thinking about having their carpets cleaned. Time sensitive offers are good, but if you are like me and prefer to large amounts printed to save costs, then they are no good.( unless you can shift 100k in a couple of months)

Hi Guys,
Having been responsible for several trees worth of leaflets over the past 20 years , I believe an 'offer' is essential.
Commands are also important as is 'you appeal' and benefits rather than features.
Ring us now to get your 20% discount and your carpets will look clean and fresh for Xmas.
Much better than;
We are a really good carpet cleaning company and we use the best equipment.
