been looking through old posts regarding tap triggers ect and came across this. http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=100776.40
(scroll down to jeff temperly's post regarding his setup)
I quite like the idea of it, putting pole on roof between houses and not have to keep disconnecting hose, plus saving water with the tap on the brush head.
Has anyone else tried this setup, is it any better that using a pole tap/trigger?

ooohhhhh, time to start the debating society again ;D
i looked into putting a tap on the brush head SMC do a really light one, or you can buy an autobrush
which is a simular idea OR get an aqua daptor - been using one of these for a few weeks now,
fab piece of kit!
roll on all the other posts about cost and cutting your poll etc.... ;D ;D

Do people Not like cutting there poles then, what happens if you don't like the aqua adapter and want to take it off?
-
aqua dapter is a great bit of kit - yes the price needs to be lower.
i cut my new clx the other day - was worried at first but now its all fitted and ive used it a little then im more than happy i went with it...

Hi sierragls,
You don't need to cut your pole to fit (any version) of the Aqua-dapter. You probably do need to remove the end screw for the Aqua-dapter to slide on to the end section, and to have enough pole to clamp to. Cutting is probably the easiest way of doing this.
However, you can also heat up the glue and remove the end screw, which (if I remember correctly) is what Darran has done, and quite a few other customers have too.
what happens if you don't like the aqua adapter and want to take it off?
Well, if you have cut your pole, you can refit the old end screw, or buy a new one e.g. http://www.express-cleaning-supplies.co.uk/oos/reachandwash/GT1.html and you've lost maybe 3 inches. If you haven't cut the pole, just glue the endscrew in and you're back to normal.
In the unlikely event that there's a fault with the Aqua-dapter, it can be easily bypassed while still on the pole, contact us and we'll sort you out.
It was originally designed as a permanent pole upgrade, but after listening to the feedback we've received the Mk2, which is currently available (with a discount) for Pre-Order, allows for the optional screw thread adapter, which means you will be able to fit it without any modification to your pole (although we still recommend clamping it directly to the pole for the most secure fit).
Happy to answer any other questions you may have.

i honestly thought stuff that im not cutting my pole! but some how i had a mad moment and got a saw to my brand new clx.
it took me about 10 mins to fit the whole thing and now its done im thinking what was i worried about!
maybe guys looking to buy a new pole and a aqua dapter can contact the supplier if they can have the top section without a screw thread on it???
this bit of kit works really well - saves a bit of water and i think maybe great for the winter - less water on the floor ....
think its down to personal choice tho on all wc kits ... some will like one thing and another will hate it - no not marmite!!!
im guessing the aqua dapter guys are gonna be very busy at the cleaning show - well i guess thats the best place for everyone to try it out first ...

Ive just put a tap at the top of my pole, works a treat, if i had something like a slx 35 ft'r id hook the reel up to the pole and have it always connected, (no ezsnaps etc) and just use the tap. Unfort i only use a small pole for domestics then get the supalite out on ocassions.
Ive turned the water up and with me flicking it on and off easily i havent used any more than normal and i can work quicker.
Plus the tap cost me less than £3 lol
