some people use them for ground floor windows and for conservatory roof panels off appropriate ladder.
I used them to great effect when I employed someone and I poled tops while he followed up behind poling the bottoms with a short pole.
If you have never tried one you dont know what a difference it makes. A light,  3ft pole is a whole world better to use on ground floor windows than an 18ft pole.
