Hi,
Increasingly I'm getting many potential domestic clients are asking if my staff are CRB checked. I always take up references and interview staff personally but I thought that I should look into CRBs.
I know that many cleaning companies do get CRBs for their staff. However, I've just spoken to proCRB, who tell me that they won't allow me to get either enhanced or standard CRBs for my staff unless they work in a school or a care home as private clients have no right to ask for a CRB.
I just wondered what the best way forward is as I feel that I do need to pursue getting CRBs if possible as it does seem to be important to many potential clients.
Thanks.

funny proCRB said that as they told me similar, but also then immediately after advised that if you a hiring the staff as a all round cleaner who could be doing any domestic house clean in the hours you give then you're entitled to a check if you feel there is potential for the cleans to be at a property with elderly or children. As the cleaner will be in a domestic home any way i'd have thought this was enough reason as you can't guarantee no children will be at the property, if say family was visiting whilst they had to clean then would you not need to have the cleaner leave so security reasons?
