Does this really work using a extended lance and a U BEND ?
i just imagine crap flying everywhere.
Do any of you guys use this method?
-
Yes, I also have a gutter vac but often find it quicker and easier to use the pressure washer. Turn down the pressure and use the black (detergent) nozzle. Start from the down pipe and work away from it in sections and rinse towards downpipe (if that makes sense, don't try and rinse from furthest away from downpipe in one go!!)

i use a scraper as well from the floor to ge tteh big bits out, realy easy, just buy the belt as makes life easier on the back

dont like the idea of flushing everything down someones downpipes and possibly blocking further down on ground

Only flush to downpipe if downpipe end is visible (ie not buried into surface) so you can collect any crap from grid and ensure downpipe not blocked. I use a camera to check contents of gutter prior to using pressure washer, if very full/or compacted then remove, I use a gutter scraper attached to a harris pole to move debris to one end and remove from gutter before using pressure washer.

a lot of gutters just have sludge in after scrooping out and when pressure washer comes out easily

I dont want to scoop it out... and ...pressure wash, looking for the easiest, quickest and the most profitable way of gutter cleaning really,
without spending a grand on a gutter vac :)

I have a lance and pressure washer but can't get the hang of it - I use a vac all the time now - no mess at all.

Do you find you can use the vac even where the gutter is tight to the roof tiles, I have had a couple of jobs where there was no way to get the vac into the gutter due to the roof tiles overhanging the gutter.

a pressure washer wont make any mess either if used like outdoor restore says start close to the outlet with a low pressure nozell .

Hi
Thanks for the tips outside restore and ds window cleaning iam going to try this. i hate using the lance and gutter hook we all end up soaked and covered in leaves and bird poo.
suppose common sense really to turn right down and use black nozzle. iam still going to buy a omnipole system, just waiting to buy a preloved model.
cheers

I want to get a gutter vac system sometime this year, but in the meantime I am using a pressure washer with lance and gutter attachment... It can be messy, but I much prefer it to doing it all off of a ladder!

Hi All
just to let you know i did a gutter on wednesday turned down and worked away from down pipe, worked a treat.
we did end up covering the conservatory roof but just gave it a quick squeege off and then reached and washed it.
i couldnt fit the black nozzle to the gutter hook though as it didnt have the quick release on the end just a fixed nozzle will get changed out for quick release.
Whats everyone charging I have heard everyhting from 1 pound a meter to 10 pound per meter. or 20 pound for a semi to 100 for a semi?
cheers
john
