Title: wand leaking?
Post by: Justin lee on September 11, 2010, 11:59:33 pm: can anyone help? my wand on my airflex turbo is leaking out of both jets at the bottom when i am not holding the trigger? the water is actually coming from both holes, i think it must be something to do with the trigger not shutting off the water supply properly?? this means i am leaving drops of water all on the carpet!!

Post by: Carpet Dawg on September 12, 2010, 12:59:15 am: Sounds like it just needs a new male (or female) connector on your wand. You could try messing around with changing the O ring but the connectors are cheap enough. You can get them from places like retoremate or which ever supplier you use for chems should also stock them. Some suppliers wont list every single item they have on thier website so a phone call will do the trick.

ps following on from what John has said about filters, I've got one of those Westpak wands and I find even with the filters clean they drip a little anyway.

Have you cleaned the filters behind the jets. These are actually non return valves which stop the fluid already in the tube after the kingston valve leaking out.
They have a fine spring and a ball bearing inside which opens under pressure. Thse can sometimes cake up and stick open.
Take them out and soak in descaler or vinegar overnight.

Post by: Paul Redden Countryfresh on September 12, 2010, 10:35:14 pm: Had the same problem on a quite new kingston valve, trouble is the stem seal now is neoprene, the old ones were rubber and much easier to seal. its a bit like a tap washer letting water leak past the seal
and pressuring the wand valves causing a leak, I would like to know how you get inside the wand filters to clean inside.
