Just recentley with hardly any water in recovery tank the saftey ball cuts out the vac motors
I have never expericed this before.
Fine if I run one motor but anything more ball pops up the tube.
I have considered trying to fix ball as I do not fill recovery tank to the top I relise this is not the best solution so hope the more mechanical amongst you have an idea.
For instance can balls get too old ?
-
is the ball in a filter cage?
when i had a Prochem Cheyanne if the cage got slightly blocked it hindered the airflow and causes the ball to be pulled up by the vacuum, might be this
-
Are you getting a good air seal on lid ect ?
Had a problem with ball once changed it for a hairspray lid SORTED IT 8)
-
As mike say,s make sure cage is clean as this happens on mine Des
-
cage looks clean but will strip it down
Lid is screw top
Did wonder about this but air is going in as it sucks
-
Does it have a solid bottom to it or a stainless steel screen?
If it has a stainless steel screen you can smear mastic on the bottom makes it less sensative.
The ball will not go up so quickly.

Not sure what machine you have Ian so this may not be affect yours... There is sometimes a deflection aid where the hose connects to the recovery tank, this sends water down into the tank as opposed to shooting straight on. If that is loose or broken and water is getting passed it that maybe causing your problem.

Simon
I wondered about that and have plans for bigger deflector as end looks missing
Ps I believe you also do blinds like me?
Vernon was thinking along those lines but worried about mastic getting in motor

No I don't blinds, just carpets and daily contracts. If the end is missing I think thats your problem
