Do you reckon a shirt and tie makes any difference when you're canvassing or do you just wear your uniform / something casual?
-
i wouldnt wear a suit - it may actually put them off as you will look more like a annoying salesman ...
just got some good branded workwear with your company name on ....

The most important thing you can wear is a smile :) dont want to be cheesy with my answer but its defo the most important thing you can wear

i bought pole shirt and had company name but on it, looks neat, wear good jeans and been clean shaven, thats all i do

I don't canvass much nowadays - maybe occasionally knock on a couple of doors around a new custy but I used to do one of three things.
1. Smart casual trousers, V - neck jumper smart shirt but no tie.
2. On really big houses or businesses - suit jacket and tie but with smart trousers of different colours so not as smart as a suit - think head of geography dept. teacher (no leather elbow patches though! ;))
3. Workwear jacket, poloshirt and working trousers.

Right, pattern definately developing here, I'll ditch the double glazing salesman look and try smart casual cheers

I guess if you are too smart, you may be mistaken for a Jehovah's witness . Specially carrying a writing pad/book.
