Title: A new back/trolley on the block
Post by: Gordon_Taylor on September 08, 2010, 08:23:55 pm
Evening all,

Just thought Iid let you all know that I've just purchased a back/trolley off ebay and it's turned out to be brilliant. holds 16 litres of water you can use it as a back pack or trolley.

I've a shurflo backpack on a sack trolley at moment but it's a bit of a nightmare.

This one is hundred quid all in, I used it to day and it beats the shurflo hands down, before I bought it I emailed the fella about parts and they do a full range of spares aswell.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-3-ONE-BATTERY-BACKPACK-16-LITRE-/190441813970?pt=UK_HomeGarden_CLV_Cleaning_CA&hash=item2c573777d2

Regards.

Yeah I've it quite afew times now robust, sturdy and it's very good pressure. I used it yesterday with a 40 foot pole with extra length of microbore with no problems at all.

Hi Jouk45,

I know roughly how much work I can get done with one fill,
I've dry once or twice but had air locks or anything, just fill up again and off you go.

it only has one speed but that works fine plenty of water flow gets the job done quicker, as for alternatives it's each to there own I personally like this backpack because i don't need to mount it on a trolley. if you want the wheels on fine if not take them off it's got a very strong handle and straps if you want it on you back.

doctorwindows how much was your unit?

same as wcw one,great backpack.
have 5 metres of hose on it,better than the xline/pure freedom trolley!

no i added it m8,joined it to the existing hose and then have a rectus fitting on the end straight into my trigger on my clx, works perfect!
can do a full house with 10 litres of water.
the backpack holds 18 litres of water and is still light as a feather when full!

Sounds good, but by the time you buy a trolley securing it you got to be talking £130-140,

But hey always good to have options.

are people still using these ????
cant see the point nowdays- we gave up on backpacks 8 years ago

just get a tank in van/car , as you already lugging the water round , a pump , 100 mtrs microbore ( there's nowhere you cant get to with100mtrs !! ) . less hassel

even the cost is a no brainer - all them 25 lt's container's you can by a tank , the backpack price you can get a pump , so you left with just getting the microbore !!
all the other bits you will be using anyway

Back packs are supposed to be for hard to reach areas only, cant believe window cleaners are running their whole business with these things. When we changed to WFP, 7 years ago my set up cost me £18000.00 some trying to start with a cost of £99.00 and wonder why they cant get any commercial work.

Who said anything about running a business with just a back pack. it's another tool.

Jesus you really can't put anything on this forum without some plonker trying to shoot you down in flames. Craig t I see you have the polarbrite website on your profile, that would explain why you don't like them as there a damn site cheaper than polarbrites.

At the end of the day it's just a tool if you don't want a backpack then fine don't have but don't slag people off for using them it's peoples own choice.

The backpack I bought £100

The shurflo backpack on your website over £200, yeah that makes real good business to twice as much for something  :-\
