Could someone tell me how one of these works (Mike Halliday perhaps)
Just incase i havnt been able to repair my h/exchanger on my Sidekick.
Do they work simular to that on a hot diesel pressure washer?

(same answer on ccdo).
they work the same as a hot pressure washer but without the pump.
you would fit a short solution line from your truckmount to the hotbox then your solution line from the hot box into the house
but you need an electricy supply which can be a 12v/240v transformer so it runs from the t/m battery
and the hot box needs venting out of the van.
the heat is incredible i did a ceramic kitchen floor this morning just hot water@ 1000psi, high flow ( almost steam) no chemical it ripped through the dirt.

Where would you buy one of these??
Not even sure what it is.

That system sounds so much better. So why do TM manufacturers bother with heat exchangers then ?
-
The heat exchangers use the exhaust heat from the engine which is free,
so i suppose it boils (no pun) down to cost.
Plus to get an actual h/e for my steamway it would have to come from the US,
have emailed them about it months ago, no replies.

To do this the inverter is going to be quite expensive you need to get 12v to 220v drawing 13amp
if you are running a 2800w heater then your inverter need to be min 5600 watts there are some cheap ones on ebay but one I saw was £1049 +
But with a TM your waterflow would be to great for these to keep up with, and you would probably onlty get luke warm water, if you were running a twin jet wand with 11015 jets it would make it quite hot then all depends on the lenght of your solution line as you can lose 20 F for every 25 feet of hose according to Gregg Bloss of Steamway (who is no longer there) so if you are running a 4 get wand you probable be using 9515 which means you would be using twice the amount of water, and it would not keep the temprature up at those flow rates

Vernon read the topic properly.
