hi everyone, been offered a wc round, been eshablished around 15 years all good payers all four weekly only trouble is don't have the cash to pay for it-he wants three times fot it but wants it to go to us as we are local to him(doesn't want to sell to anyone out of the area)money wise he's happy to get money as and when(guess he made it years ago ;) ;) ;))he is retiring by the way would like to suggest renting the round at the mo is there any pros and cons to this?what would the rent be?10% i thought of or does it vary?he offered me one tonight as an add-on to some i've just bought off him £110.00 four weekly for a house-takes him 2 and a bit hours on a good day(trad-i'm wfp for ease but don't mind either)any thoughts on this many thanks kevin

my mate bought a round on a 6 month rental deal then had to but it for 2 times what it was worth,
just hope i can get a deal like that but no one wants to see where i am
offer him somethhing like 15% for 6 months then u have the option to buy it at 2 times the monthly value if you want it if not he gets it back,

i rent rounds off 2 diff w/c i pay 20% witch is ok as long as they are priced right

have seen some of his round and to be honest, they are very well priced, all custies pay on the nose-some even leave money under the doormat(i'm not used to that one)i know the job at £110.00-used to run round the grounds as a kid big house but i think/hope overpriced is 10% being too mean?was thinking of giving 10% for as long as he lives so to speak-not good buissiness sense but i've not got the money to buy the round but the round will be a good booster to the existing one and give me a kick up the ass to give my day job up

10% for the rest of his life is a bit generous. (unless he's in his 80's)
If he's suffering bad health and needs rid of it why not offer him 10% until you have paid him 5 x the value and then the round becomes yours or something like that? I guess it depends how he is fixed financially and how desperate he is for a lump sum up front.

money wise he's allright-working three days at the mo the other four he spends at his holiday home at the sea-side don't think he's strapped for cash just reducing his workload,he's 65 bad hip-knee knackered usual wc thing,he has a son who could take it over and who works with him but won't learn to drive so can't do it(guess he's lazy etc)

Sounds like a good & cheap oppertunity there. Can you not get a cash transfer from credit card or any other means of finance?
-
Does sound like a good opportunuty, youll kick yourself if you dont get it, and remember youll be earning more so you can pay him off quicker!!

As above I reckon its a good opportunity... Maybe a visit to the bank ?
One thing I would think about though is the guys son.
Like you said he's been working for his dad, knows the round, knows the custys and knows the prices. If you do decide to take it then see what his son will be doing.
If its well priced work you could offer to take it at 3 times, but pay a % up front... And then 3 monthly installments.
