Hi Ken
Does anybody here use Skype? Save all this tedious typing malarky and just conference your queries away!
I'm not sure what that means. Could you explain it a little more?
I think you mean talking to someone on the phone instead of typing. I think.
If so, I type postings in between working out the following days work. It breaks things up a little where as if I was on a phone......
Thanks and cheers

Do you need one of these ??

I know what that is.
My mate told me last week.
If I had one of them I could be pro active and interact with my clients needs and enhance their visual expereince in a way that is condusive to their in house requirments.

That link is to a USB phone that you use via the internet

Hi thewindowcleaner1
That link is to a USB phone that you use via the internet
I must be thick.
How would that help me post on this forum as per the original thread about 'conference'........
Cheers
-
I don' know still waiting I'm like you still waiting for some one to explain?
-
Skype is a free bit of software that enables you to talk over your broadband connection free of charge to other Skype users, anywhere in the world. You can set up a conference with up to five people, which could be handy if you needed to sort out work or wfp problems or a bit of a knees up(?)
-
Oh ... :o
I still don't understand.
Sorry. I just don't get it.
How would it help me type and why would I want to 'conference' with 5 customers at once and I cannot think of any occasion where I'd be needed to talk to loads of people at once?
My missus though and her friends.........
Maybe I'm odd.
-
Phone calls cost me 4p per 59 minute call eves and weekend.
I don't wanna talk to anyone more than that.
I know people on skype
Bit of a gimmick at the moment. But I have heard that Bill Gates is about to launch free phonecalls to all broadband internet users through microsoft software.
Watch this space, it has to come

Thanks.
Now I understand.
The original posting meant 'why type when you can chat on the phone for free'.
Blimey... I feel knackered now.
Cheers
-
phew thank god for that ;D
-
Now I understand.
The original posting meant 'why type when you can chat on the phone for free'.
Ok
but how would you be able to hear those calls later like you can by reading past posts ?
-
dont confuse the poor lad !!!!!!! ;D
-
Good point.
I still don't get how it would all help us on this forum.
The problem being that if I want to speak to someone, I phone them up.
I would not type to them if I wanted to phone them up would I?
If I wanted to speak to my missus I would not be typing to her in the first place.
The original posting implied some type of software that .. oh I don't know. :-[
-
My wife said, if I expected her to remember something I'd told her, then why didn't I write it down in the first place.
Women...Can you work them out?
At least now I can talk to her on the phone for free!
I know a bloke, hasn't talked to his wife for 3 months!!
Wellll, he didn't want to interrupt her now, did he?
Pj :D :D :D

baffles me
-
And issues ..............
-
Oh dear, the threads are continually spiralling.
Just to clarify;
SKYPE is a completely free program, if you have broadband you can use your microphone to speak direct to anyone else who also has SKYPE on their computer.
If you subscribe to their telephone service you can also use your phone and call anywhere in the UK completely free of charge, you have to be online to do so.
You top up credit online, charges are made for calling mobiles or abroad.
For about 3-5p per min you can call any land line in Europe. Or you can speak to friends or family for free if using your computer microphone and they are also online.
I'm locking this topic, interesting though it is, it has nothing to do with window cleaning.
