First job Wednesday was to a customers where she is the only house I do ... worked out I lost over an hour from the day by the time I got there and did the job then back to the compact customers.
I have a few like these so is it best to just set a day aside to do all these lone customers than to keep loosing an hour out of the day ...... will build the areas with canvassing in the long term though.
As it so happens this particular customer texed me shortly after doing the job to say dont clean the windows no more as getting new ones ...... replied by saying just done them and did she want me to do the new ones once they had been fitted .... she replied will send cheque and husband is going to be doing them !! .......
So that particular customer no longer a problem ;D (£10 every 8 weeks) ... replaced already with another £8 every 4 weeks and part of a growing round too.

I've got a few customers who are a bit further away from my usual area.I've told them that I'm happy to do them if they accept that I have to put the price up a bit to cover fuel. For example I have one which I would charge a fiver ordinarily which I charge £10 for and a £15 pounder I do for £20.I've told them all that if a more local window cleaner approaches them then no hard feelings if they change to them.As you say,it makes sense to do all these places in one day if you can to avoid slowing down the more compact days.

What realy makes sence is canviceing more business in that road and area and building it profitable.

i have a day where i do all the traveling jobs, breaks the day up, just ty and pick up more work in that area, by knocking the weekend before

i've had some rec's that have meant more travelling etc, so i put these onto a seperate day then set aside
some time to canvass and turn that area into a full day, likewise other days get re-jigged and refined every few months to keep things compact.

agreed but takes time to build so putting all the stragglers into 1 day and like smudger suggests leaving time to do some canvassing

can you canvass that area might be worth it in the long run
