Title: evening canvassing
Post by: GB Window Cleaning on September 01, 2010, 05:00:08 pm
i normally do my evening door knocking for 2 hours 6 till 8 pm!
was wondering what everyone else does for night/evening canvassing hours?
im under the impression 5 pm people are on there way back from work still
and after 8 pm is a bit rude to be knocking!?!

regards. g.b

knocking when its dark is much better roll on winter. You can see who is in and save so much time. I get much more work canvassing when dark in winter.

I find women don't answer after 7pm as the soaps are on, and the male of the house is rarely interested, same for collecting

i find the men just as interested as the woman to be honest, maybe 60/40 to the females though!

what does everyone else think, men just as interested as woman in having clean windows & doors (i always do doors as well)

Good times to canvass, i don't go past 8pm unless on a roll and have just a couple of houses left to do.

i personally don't canvass in the dark (so winter is during the day or w/ends) as many (well virtually all) roads
around here have no street lighting so can't see a bl@@dy thing

i carry a torch when canvassing in the dark so i can see any damage on the windows to let the customer know it was there before i cleaned them!

3:30 and 5:30 pm are best when the mums are at home before the men get home!
