Not used a Zafira... But did us a VW Sharan for about 6 months (wfp - backpack & 25L containers)

My neighbour had a zafira and I remember the boot being a little on the small side.

Depends on how many containers you carry I suppose.

In the Sharan I removed the 6th & 7th seat. I had 8 x 25L containers and my packback in their with space for another 4 containers if I wanted. I bought a £10 kids paddling pool from argos and put that in the back .

Best thing I can say is go and measure a zafira boot, mark out the space at home and put your kit into that space.

Ive got a galaxy at mo...same as sharan. Cant fault it really, plenty of room!

Think zafira is a little smaller, but still workale i imagine. What would you need to carry?

It all depends if you know of a decent one or something doesnt it etc.

Plenty of room i imagine...just gotta be careful with the water...cause no matter how careful you are...you will spill some and wreck the carpets as ive done. The pool is a good idea

Personally if you carry 4/5 I'd look at getting something that can carry 8/10... That way if you needed to carry more then you don't have to look at changing vehicles

Again, I have used a VW Sharan for 2 years and to be honest I still wish I had it rather than my caddy van for the space, although the caddy looks a bit more professional.

You can get a plastic tray that fits in the boot for the Sharan to catch all the water.

Unfortuanlty not, the tank is too long, i had a toyota previa before this and the back seats slid forward so you could get tank in, it was just heavy on juice. 2.3 auto deisel mind...tenner used to get me about 30 - 40 miles GULP!

Im sure you could get a decent sized tank in mine though with the rear seats in. Ill measure for you next time everythings out. Are you thinking of getting one?

The Sharan I had was a joy to drive. So much space and very comfortable.

I dropped off & picked up 6 people plus camping gear for a festival up north last year. Even fully loaded it still pulled well !

thanks for the response i think im going to go with the zafira, their should be plenty of room in the boot for what i want plus it gives me more room for family days out. The two extra seats in the rear will be left down 99% of the time plus i can always upgrade to a van once i am busy enough.

What engine was yours mate? Id defo have another.

Ive vinyled the back windows too, makes it look a little bit different to "just a car"

2.0L petrol on a V plate.

Engine went on it a year ago this weekend. There was no service history with it when I bought it. I know why though... Probably because it hadn't been serviced !

Would definatley go for another... I like the new shaped Galaxys... Though if I got one it would be a family vehicle. Yours looks good with the back windows vinyl'ed out. Looks half man half beast... I mean half van half car !

zafira on pic looks nice - new galaxy is nice to tho!

be a shame to buy that and start throwing work crap in it tho - i think most of us treat our work van alot different to the family car.

one thing to maybe think about - alot of guys will go into wfp with a backpack or trolley and then realise a van mount is a must for them after only a few months - so would you put a tank in the zafira?

From the pic, the zafira does look maybe a little too small? The newer sharans/galaxys to mine look smart

A friend of mine has this zafari opc, and its a bit small in my point of view.

If you want a family car like that, I would go for a Ford S-Max  ;D

i started out with a van system after a year or so i got fed up reeling hose in an out moving the van so many times a day it was a wind up so i brought the freedom trolley i use 1.5mm jets in brush a shortened slx and it works better for me, i think it depends on how your round is laid out, i got a little 70 ltr tank and drums so some times i leave trolley in motor attached to 50m of pole tubing and remote for of an on, really my round suits the trolley better but a combo system of both is the way forward, i also carry a backpack for those odd jobs when you got to walk through the house to get to the back as there is no access,

i would say for new comers a trolley is a good way to start and can be adapted to a van system and grow as you do, but cant rule out the backpack its a handy item.
