Title: HAVING THE LAST LAUGH
Post by: the bfg on August 28, 2010, 07:37:09 am
While out working yesterday I was approached by a bloke who asked if I could come and clean his windows,   he gave the address which was just down the road from the house I was cleaning so I agreed to come and give him a quote when I finished.

anyway I got there and it was a large house with a massive conservatory,  2 large bay windows on the front and FOUR pairs of large patio doors on the back besids the 33 other large windows

I asked if he wanted it cleaned on a regualr basis and his reply was no just a one off clean including all frames and sills and the massive conny roof which was minging.

I said as a one off clean it would be £150

hye said WHAT
I said £150

he said my last w/c did it for a fraction of the price
then came my belter of a reply
I said yes but the window cleaning industry has changed  since Stan Ogden died mate so its £150 or were both wasting each others time.

he said no forget it
I said no probs and walked back to my van and got in and was reversing out of his drive when he came back over and said

WHEN COULD YOU DO IT ?
I said well I'm here now so I can do it now

it took me 3 and a half hours but it looked spot on when I finished and he paid in cash and said he was delighted with the end result and even thanked me.

I must use that Stan Ogden line ,ore often  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

£150 sounds cheap! some would charge that just for the conny roof mate, sont let the public dictate the prices and devalue the trade!
