I bought one last week brill bit of kit
andy
Many thanks for your e-mail and enquiry.
Although this recording solution would be ideal, the camera with it won’t be. We have recently supplied many guttering companies with a solution using this as a base kit but supplied with a very different camera. The unit I am referring to is a HQ2 camera that can take a variety of extension form 1m, 2m, 5m & 10m lengths up to 50m when ‘daisy-chained’.
Please see below for a typical set-up including pricing and relative web links to these items.
MiniDVR2 camera system (less camera) £130.00
Hq2 bullet camera £145.00
10m Hq camera extension cable £14.95
AA battery clip (8xAA batteries=20hrs life) £ free
Universal Ultraclamp £19.00
Filming kit total £308.95
Less kit discount £8.95-
New kit total £300.00 inc vat & free delivery

HQ2 bullet camera, http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/sony-hq2-bullet-camera.html
Battery clip, http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/power_for_bullet_cam.htm
Ultraclamp, http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/roll-bar-cage-mounts.htm
This set-up has proved extremely popular for this type of application and provides both yourself and your customer instant live preview and playback of your findings.
I hope this helps to explain the set-up for you, if you want to proceed with this, please give me a call and I will happily process a manual order for you.

Andy,
Am I missing something here as it appears that they have only given a £35 discount for removing a £100 camera from the set-up?
-
was told the price and was happy to pay
now youve made me feel like ive been done will have a look at it again and get back to you :'(
-
Sorry mate I was looking as I am interested in the kit but something wasn't stacking up, it could be something we've both overlooked!
-
can you not buy wireless bullet cam and dvr instead of cable wrapped round the pole? been searching but cant find one
-
You can buy wireless cams but they need a power source usually a 12v battery, some can use a 9v bat. the receiver needs a power source too. this is usually a 12v batt.

What about one of these for £100?
I have a customer who fits one inside a radio controlled plane & does Ariel surveys etc in HD! You can swivel the lens 270 degrees & the 360 degree adaptor is amazing, it gives a real human like view all in high definition!
OK, it doesn't have a remote screen to view real time but it's only a case of lowering the pole back down. It's about the same size & weight of a mobile phone. You can either view the footage on the unit's own screen or hook up to tv, laptop etc.

Any takers? I'm not a vac user, would this be no good for the job then?

Only problem I see would be directing it at the right angle maybe. You might download the film and find you had missed the gutter completely perhaps? Would be nice and light though.

John
Iam playing with this at the moment. i have bought a camera from maplin for 30 quid plus a tenner for some leads. iam going to run it into an archos multi media player i had this knocking around its years old dead technology for the home but is good enough screen to see gutters and records can burn to dvd via laptop.
its all working just need to attach to a pole to get the height.
can show you it when its done.
john
ps posted on your gooseneck post, got one you can borrow if you want.
-
cheers john i will speak to you cheers john ;)

we use something simular to this, cant remember the exact seller works really well, the detail and images are amazing
the camera is fixed to a fishing pole and run off a 9v batt.
