Nope, but I'd want it wearing a black suit, bow tie and to be turning the weeds away individually for that price!!

This is also non-residual, so no good on drives.

Following on from the Sodium Chlorate ban our supplier now sells a weedkiller based upon 2 herbicides. One being glyphosate which does the initial kill and another herbicide that leaves a residual knock down affect.

Price is about £0.90 a litre and dilutes up to 8:1.

I have to be honest and say that as yet I haven't used it. I am just coming to the end of old stock. I will be buying soon though.

Let me know if you want contact details of supplier.

Regards

Its the bit that does the job after you're gone.

Pathclear would be an example of a branded non-selective residual weedkiller, i.e. it kills everything and keeps at bay fo as long as conditions allow.

Anyone who uses a professional pesticide product in the course of their business or employment may not use that pesticide or give instruction to others on their use unless they have received adequate instruction, training and guidance in their correct use.

In addition users of pesticides must hold a Certificate of Competence if using a pesticide if they :

◦were born after 31 December 1964; or
◦are providing a commercial service e.g contactors or anyone spraying on land that is not his or his employers.
Anyone who is required to hold a Certificate of Competence can only use pesticides without a Certificate if they are supervised by someone who does hold a certificate.

Obtaining a Certificate of Competence is the best way of demonstrating that you are trained to use specific types of equipment, even if under the legislation you are not required to have one.

Currently, the recognised Certificate of Competence for the use of pesticides are issued by the National Proficiency Tests Council and the Scottish Skills Testing Service

can get sodium chlorate in many shops still even if it is banned. how do the shops get away with selling it? loads of custys are still applying it to their drives as they had a stock of it.

anyone used this

Thats what we use and it is great stuff. I put it down at least 2 weeks before we clean and mix 2 cap fulls to a 5 Litre spray bottle (not sure what that works out a litre price) but i have had the same bottle for about 6 months (i think) although it is just about to run out! And for that price i will be snapping it up ;)

Also doesn't non residual mean that it doesn't leave a residue and that the leaves absorb the weed killer down to the roots? As if it was residual it would leave a residue on the surface? Or is that me just being thick?

Alan

most of the time the fsc & turbo nozzel gets all the weeds out when cleaning, it's only if the drive has been neglected for ages and a forrest has grown it needs pre weeding, so after cleaning there will only be roots left in the joints, thats when we apply the weed treatment, not sure if it kills the roots or just prolongs re-growth either way the dreaded weed will return.
