Guys just putting this up for you as a step to be careful.
If your embarking on any telemarketing campaigns.
Please check your calling numbers
Im really looking forward to doing a trial with a member on here.
Checked the numbers and a few are registered for unsolicted sales calls.
But please guys, check your lists that your calling £5K fine otherwise
Data is valid for 28 days, because within that time, any company or domestic household can register there name to be taken off
Its just something to think about before trawling YPages

where do you get the list from? is it openly available or do you buy it?
-
Kate1 how do I remove my number from this list?
Im getting loads of phone calls and automated messages on my landline number and its really peeing me off, its even on saturdays and sundays aswell!
-
You can buy lists that are checked for both commercial and domestic opt out of unsolicited sales calls.
But if your compiling your own, you must check them. £5k fine is not fun, if you get a someone on the other end of the line thats opted out. Some people wont, but you may get the odd person that knows the law.
Data houses mostly supply the lists where they have done all the checks.

Its only a bit of advice, you cant just pick the Yellow Pages up and call.

Hi Darren,
Im just doing a trial with a member, thats all.
Because Ive been allowed to talk about our product etc.
I offered a couple of hours free telelmarketing, so Im honouring what I originally offered.
Theres loads of Tmarketing people out there.
Lots and lots of people that would do Tsales for you.

So what approach would you use on the phone?would you approach everyone or just companys?
cheers

Its a difficult one.
Myself doing B2B its quite different to doing domestic calls.
I hate to think how many calls as a consumer that you get.
Its a very hard situation to assess, conservatories, replacement windows, life insurance, will writing, changing your USP, changing your mobile, changing to BT and the list goes on. Price wars, lot of telesales is hitting lucky when that particular person is looking to change. Or it sets off something that you think you may get a better deal. But constantly bombarded with calls is a different matter, you dont actually have time to think.
On the other hand we do need to know that deals are out there, unfortunately alot of sales comes from large call centres, where you are bombarded without having the time to make your own mind up and search around for a better deal. I always do my own research, I dont get many cold calls, but being in the job myself, I do listen, and then will search around for other things.
Sorry for the waffle
