Title: collection letters
Post by: matt cloud on August 25, 2010, 02:02:25 pm
I have a company who has not paid me for almost 5 months now, I need to write a letter to them to try and get my money and as this is the first time this has happened to me, I was wondering if anyone had a sample collection letter that i could "tweak" and send to them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

5 months!!!!!!!! a letter wont do alot - keep phoning them and re issue your invoice with a late payment charge!

you should always make it clear you have a 30 day payment condition and then a late charge after that.

what was the job? value?

Custie,
I am writing concerning the amount of €100,000,000 which remains outstanding despite my many requests for payment. This relates to window cleaning services at the above address at your request on dates between August 28th 2009 and 27th November 2009.
Because this is now over 6 months overdue, and you have not responded to any of my attempts to contact you, I am forced to submit this for collection.

You are hereby advised that papers have been filed with a debt recovery agency with regard to this debt. To prevent further action, payment of the full amount must be received within 15 days from the date of this letter.
Payment can be made by cheque (please make cheques payable to “Avondhu Cleaning Services”) to the address below, or through our website www.avondhucleaning.com using the ticket number “debt26”
If this matter is not resolved by the time specified above, debt recovery services will attempt to recover the outstanding amount without further notice to you and this letter may be tendered in court as evidence of your failure to pay.
Yours sincerely,

Nathanael Jones
Avondhu Cleaning Services
