right there are a few subjects on the go about what size tank you can fit in certain vans, so I thought I would do a list with weights that explains why you have to be carefull
my Expert van has a 815kg payload
in my van I have a 400L tank = 400kg +the tank at 25kg so thats 425kg
then I have ladders 30kg, fuel 30kg, backpack full 25kg, containers 80kg poles 10kg, reel and hose 10kg, trad gear 10kg, roof rack 20kg, ply 20kg, me 60kg I am just wee, passenger hes just wee as well 60kg, misc 10kg
total 785kg all these weights are guess work but as you can see a full fuel tank would put me over the limit easily and I have probably missed a few things

i have an expert the hdi one i thought was 923kg payload?
-
i personally believe if you fit a tank thats roughly half the weight of your payload youll be ok!! ;) ;D ;D
my van is 625kg so i dont carry more than 300L/TROLLEY/POLES/LADDERS/TRAD GEAR AND ME!(110KG!)IM 17STONE AND 6FT 2IN!!

IM 17STONE AND 2FT 2IN!!
Ah ! a little fat fella hey?!!!
-
HA HA MIKE I MEANT TO SAY 6FT 2IN!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D........modified it now!
-
mike your van probably is 900 odd, I was showing how easy to under estimate the weight you are carrying and the lads should be careful. and Daz thats not a bad way of thinking to be on the safe side
I dare say if I was a hardcore wfp operator with no ladders and no trad kit I could carry more water but it was just to illustrate how easy it is to go over weight,

Reel full of water will be more than 10kilo I reckon, di full of water, leisure battery all adds up.

don't have di in my my van but you get my point, and yes forgot the battery

and toolbox/spare tyre/jack etc! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

exactly but there is people advising 650l tanks and my point is that all adds to being overloaded ;)
-
Ive got a 650L in my scudo, i thought that was ok? ive got another 300kgs to play with?

it is if you carry not much else, look at my list and make your own mind up and if you are below fair enough. it was just an example of how you can go over

is aprox 14/16kg hose reel 8mm hose 100 mtr ;)

I reckon that after filling up with water, having about 500kg left is probably about right for a one man operation. This covers driver (I'm overweight), fuel, other tools (I carry a 2 x 3.5 mtr ladder as I need it sometimes). It may often leave a bit spare as the fuel tank runs down but I doubt it does a van much good loading it up to capacity all the time.

Best thing for anyone concerned is to fill up everything to maximum, then go to the local weighbridge and get weighed to find out.
