no matter what you do with your van water will find its way somewhere and then you start to get the smell .

there is a system where you can get your van sprayed with a sealer that stops the smell. used to work as a butcher and the boss got it done on his berlingo,no more rotten meat, blood smells.cost about £500.

£500 ?    I'd rather put up with the smell.

I have an 07 Berlingo, no matter what I tried water always found its way under the front seats and sat there about an inch deep. after a while it started to smell damp but just a glance under the seat it looked dry. the carpet is really thick with a foam backing so held loads of water but you could not tell.
so i cut the carpet out and drilled holes in the floor. I hope the leasing company dont notice when it goes back next year  ;D

Dispatch has the moulded floor covering with foam backing. When I used to overfill the tank the water got under the floor cover in the front. Once it's in there it will never dry out. Cut mine out in the end and use rubber matting now. Van is a bit noisy now.

Had to cut carpets out of 2 vehicles...it does stink, no matter how hard you try, water will always get in. Smells like a sewer, i remember in my pug partner heaving at the smell when i lifted it all lol

Darren are you trad or wfp? If trad and you leave the bucket in overnight, dont and it wont smell anywhere near as bad.

had same think happen with my expert dave, heres a tip for anyone who's had the same happen, peel the moulded floor back and sprinkle rice under it, leave it under the foam for a couple of weeks and the rice absorbs the moisture, bit of a bugger to sweep it all out after and the rice goes a bit mouldy but it works! still keep planning to install an overflow incase I over fill again  ::) ;)
