i suppose if you had a card machine you could take a deposit off people when they book you which might deter them from messing you about or canceling at the last minute.

Hi Justin,
£25 per month we're with 123Send, that's to rent the terminal and some of the charges. It's well worth it and saves the risk of bouncing cheques and having to go to the bank. Customers like it too.

its £25 a month then about £10 a month for a merchant account plus all the dreaded vat so its about £40 a month. I seriously considering getting one in the future but at nearly £500 a year plus charges not a priority at the moment.

Merchant account is included with 123Send, or at least ours is.
The other thing to consider is people tend to have more done in one go if they know they can put it on their credit card so it generates extra sales as well.

I had one years ago, advertised it on my leaflets and websites and always mentioned it on a quote, can't recall ever using it! Luckily I needed it for another business so didn't lose any money.

Do you think times have changed and people are more likely to use them now?
